What to do around Hua Hin:

Shopping: For a small town, Hua Hin shops have international standard goods and large selections of souvenirs; therefore, there is no need to go to Bangkok just to buy quality everyday items.

Spas: The proliferation of top-end resorts in Hua Hin has meant an increase in the number of spas. It is easy to find a place to be pampered in Hua Hin and Cha Am area. Most are low-key family affairs and the quality of service varies and changes as staff turnover is high. For first class treatments and facilities, head over to places affiliated with a ritzy hotel. Prices vary according to location, but treatments start at around 1500 Baht and go up from there.

Water Sports: If you are around Khao Takiab Beach area, ask about kayak rentals if you are up for independent adventure. Banana boat ride and water scooters are guaranteed not to be bored.

Golfing: Hua Hin has long been a favorite golfing destination for royalty and Thais and now starting to draw attention from international golfers. There are 7 championship golf courses around Hua Hin and Cha Am. There are several companies in town that rent out golfing equipment and can arrange package tour to any of the courses in the area complete with caddy and transfer and accommodation.

Eating: Seafood rules in Hua Hin. Concentration of outdoor seafood restaurants are on the intersection of Naresdamri and DechaNuchit. You can get seafood snacks on the beach throughout the day without having to leave your deckchair. At night, vendors gather in the corner next to the central traffic lights to offer fry, steam, bake, or grill fresh seafood. Night market is a good place to hang out, to sample food, to stroll about and to examine the local bargains. For international meal, DamnernKasem road is lined with Danish, German, and Italian restaurants. Living or vacationing in Hua Hin does not mean you have to be homesick from your favorite home-cooked meal.

Relaxing: If the sun, the sand and cold drinks are your idea of good itinerary, select a spot, anywhere along a 3-kilometer long beach for down-to-earth relaxing. Don’t forget to put on your sunscreen cream.

Horse Riding: Horse riding along the water’s edge is a very common activity to Hua Hin beach. Horses and their owners can usually be found at the end of DamnernKasem Road, on the beach.

Thai Boxing: There are two arenas to watch Thai boxing or Muay Thai in Hua Hin. They are held at the Grand Hotel on Thursday and Sunday nights and at Mr. Chop Rawee’s Thai Boxing Garden near the City Beach Hotel on Tuesdays and Fridays. The fights at both places start at 9:00 PM and conclude before midnight.
